Mets & Vin
- -Champagne Tanneux Mahy Cuvée de Réserve
Round and open nose, with subtle spices notes,it is a very well rounded wine. Its long-lasting and balanced mouthfeel is refreshing, easy to drink, with thin bubble and you will notice light notes of vanilla and hazelnut.
This is a typical festive champagne! Easy on the tongue, the well balanced effervescence releases notes of white peaches, citrus and grilled hazelnut. A perfect combination of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir gives a very easy to drink Champagne, meanwhile, we still get some character and intensity, from the "réserve". Indeed this wine is named after the fact it is partially composed of réserve wine from their infamous foudre.
- This regional Bourgogne has all quality of a top tier Village, but without the price tag, a limpid yellow robe, with reasonable fattiness, it releases odors of fresh apricot and peach, with a hint of citrus. It feels almost creamy on the palate, but still subtle and elegant, with some almond and citrus notes, to give it that nice acidity and fruity balance, while reasonably feeling the oak treatment , which is not as common for a regional Bourgogne.
- Don’t be fooled by its paler than usual robe, you will already feel with the nose, that this wine hides its secrets well. A very floral nose, almost hinting at honey and in mouth, a very fruity impression on the palate. It is a very refreshing wine; notes of apricots and clementine, but also this floral aroma, are present throughout. Very easy to drink, more supple than most white wines.
-Gamay IGP 2020 Cave de Saint Désirat
This Gamay has a ruby red robe, is limpid, aromatic and packs characteristics typical of a Gamay Vin de Pays from Ardèche, fruity and mineral. It has a supple, clean and thirst-quenching impact, is very easy to drink but still reflects the fullness of its terroir. Simple nose, with hints of berries.
- Saint Joseph Septentrio 2019 Cave de Saint Désirat
This wine is derived from the best soils and ages in new oak barrels in its dedicated underground cellar. This meticulous process gives the wine a beautiful ruby, purple-ish robe, a generous nose unveiling the riches of Syrah, but also empyreumatic notes, from the barrel ageing. Very long mouth-feel of a well-rounded, sumptuous wine, with hints of berries to start and evolve into a subtle vanilla and spice finish.
